Not saying this will help bring the Stargate franchise back anytime soon. But you never know maybe the right people will see the quality that Stargate possesses & they might give us more tv/movies/shows of Stargate. Just visit that link & click the vote button.
Ok so I just moved into a new apartment today. Today I had scheduled for my internet/cable/phone to be installed. In my head I told myself the first thing I am watching after they installed everything was Stargate. So I sit down on the couch turned the tv (not even thinking) to “syfy”. What do I see? A rerun of SG-1 playing, “The Fifth Race”.
USA Network has just renewed its newest series, Fairly Legal, for a second season, according toTVbytheNumbers! The first season of the show has featured Stargate‘s Richard Dean Anderson (Jack O’Neill) in the recurring role of David Smith, a man with many secrets who enters the life of the show’s main character after her father’s death.
With the Stargate franchise going off television for the foreseeable future after next week’s SGU finale (story), Fairly Legal may become the best place to find Anderson on the dial. (His last Stargate appearance was one year ago, in the episode“Incursion, Part 1.”)
I want to add a special section to this blog for all fans of Stargate (SG1, SGA, SGU). The section would basically be a short paragraph of why you like Stargate & what it means to you. I thought it’d be cool for others to read why you like Stargate & what it means to you.
All you have to do is leave your story in my ask box & the link to your blog. Any time someones submits one. I will add it to that section.
I’ve been re-watching season 1 of SGU for the past 2 days. I can’t believe I use to hate Rush. Well I know why I disliked him in the beginning. Season 2 is when I really started to like his character. haha.
Ok I added the links you guys sent me to the page. So be sure to check out those blogs. If you find any other Stargate blogs, let me know & I will add them to the list.
Contest! I am thinking of doing a contest. One of those “reblog & follow this blog to win” type post. I have an extra unopen copy of the original Stargate movie with extra features. Might use that as the prize for the contest. If the contest goes well. I will probably do a contest every other month or every month. Depending on how the first contest goes.
I added the section to my blog of other Stargate blogs to check out. If you have anymore please link me. I’ll add them to the list. Make sure the blogs you link me to post ONLY Stargate related content. Thank you.
I really wanted to like SGU. The first few episodes were really good, but then I guess my attention span died or something. I just... got bored with the whole "still stuck on a ship" thing. I mean the sets were beautiful, but even after half of the first season there just wasn't enough variety to hold my interest.
I really did want to like it, though. :(
At least you gave it a chance. That’s more than what most Stargate fans did. Not speaking for everyone.. but I know most made up their mind on SGU without giving it a chance. You should check out season 2. It’s definitely worth a watch. I am surprised & proud of the 2nd half of season 2 so far.
Is there some kind of protest against SGU cancellation going on? Maybe we can start sending masses of tennis balls painted like Kino to Syfy or something...
Hahaha nifty idea. But unfortunately even with protesting. It won’t change MGM’s mind to renewing SGU for another season, or a movie. In the end it’s all up to them to renew it or another network possibly picks up the show. I am still hoping for a future for the Stargate franchise.. so lets all keep our fingers crossed.
‘Epilogue’ ratings show improvement for SGU, but Sanctuary suffers..
Yesterday’s new episode ofStargate Universe picked up significantly in the ratings, with more than 1 million viewers tuning in to “Epilogue” — perhaps helped by SGU‘s new pairing withSanctuary, starring former SG-1actress Amanda Tapping. ButSanctuary‘s move from Friday to Monday dealt a major blow to its own ratings.
“Epilogue” drew an estimated1.092 million viewers to Syfy at 9 p.m. on Monday night (“Live + Same Day”), up 27 percent from the previous week.
Sanctuary didn’t fare so well at 10 p.m., with just 868,000 viewers. That’s comparable to SGU‘s numbers at 9 and 10 o’clock this spring, but a far cry (39 percent, to be exact) from what Sanctuary was doing on Friday nights just three days earlier.
Last nights episode of SGU was AMAZING. Yet again another reminder every time I watch SGU I know it’s getting closer to the end & then.. no more. This episode definitely had me on the edge of my seat. I don’t want to spoil it.. but all I can say is WOW. Their descendants advancing as far as they did in under 2000 years? Just awesome. This episode might possibly be my favorite episode from SGU.
